Does anyone really care that other players are getting achievements using mods? This dumb limitation is there to protect who? Who will be damaged if I get the damn achievements while playing with mods?Įdit: u/rikaco already shared the mod that enable achievements, which solved my problem. Having to sacrifice something I like in order to fix it for no good reason just made it worse. Sorry for the rant but finding out that I got hit hard by this bug killed my enjoyment when I was having a great time playing Fallout 4. Now that I'm aware that my perception is permanently damaged, the choice is easy though painful, goodbye achievements. After some research, seems like Bethesda didn't bother to fix it and the best solution aside from wasting my time and patience trying to force the game to undo the damage only to fall victim of it again later is this mod, which means I was forced again to do a dumb, unnecessary choice, this time to fix what Bethesda left unfixed.
It probably been like that for dozens of hours, which explain my shit accuracy in VATS even though I have 7 PER), which is game breaking if you like to use VATS. Now I fell victim of the perception bug (I have a -5 permanent penalty. Since I'm not much into mods, I decided to go for achievements. I was going to install the unofficial patch for Fallout 4 since I did the same in Skyrim, then I find out that I would need to give up on achievements. Meanwhile, I feel free to use mods, I'm not forced to choose between two features for no good reason. Nobody cares that players can use mods to get achievements, there's no complaints, if there's mods that help to get achievements it's not popular enough to matter, you just don't hear about it. Then Civ VI came out and it allow players to get achievements when they are using mods and guess what, the world didn't end. Civilization V was like that, so I never got into mods there since I was interested in achievements and I'm not much into modding the game, aside from fixes and quality of life stuff.
